This two-year project continued the organisation's twice-weekly drop-in sessions for asylum seekers and refugees living in Bristol inner city. Project participants from over 40 countries met together with others from similar life experiences and accessed support and built friendships. The drop-in provided an opportunity for social contact, alongside organised opportunities to access services, and a free hot meal. Participants led the development of the sessions and the project via a drop-in management group.

Borderlands Drop-in project

They will run a mentoring scheme to support asylum seekers and refugees in the local area. People will receive training to improve their listening skills and understanding of others so they can help an asylum seeker or refugee to deal with the many challenges they face in successfully integrating into the community, such as applying for jobs, learning English and finding housing. There will also be a public exhibition to raise awareness of why some people are forced to seek sanctuary.
