This is a project to provide free professional services to voluntary and community organisations to enable them to improve their knowledge and skills, their business planning, service delivery and legal position. This is done by brokering relationships between community groups and professional firms who then provide pro bono advice in their specific field of expertise. It creates stronger, more confident and sustainable voluntary and community organisations.

ProHelp Programme

The organisation's Aiming Higher project will provide mentoring support and work experience opportunities for young people aged 16-20 in the South Eastern Health Trust area - which includes the Down area - and the Belfast Health Trust area. The project will recruit and train business mentors who will be matched with a young person and provide them with support and training. The young people involved will also have the opportunity to gain work experience with local companies.

The programme aims to increase the support available to civil society from the private sector, as part of a wider investment in reshaping and transforming the quality and range of support services that frontline civil society organisation can access.

The group will use the grant to help tackle low self confidence and esteem in women in the Belfast area at either a key stage in their lives, for instance adolescence, or those facing specific problems, such as ex-offenders and single parents.
